Professor Wendy currently teaches at Vanderbilt University in the U.S., with research spanning mathematics, computer science, political science, and biomedical fields. She has received the High-Performance Computing Innovation Excellence Award and the Best Paper Award from the American Political Science Association, and has been repeatedly recognized as a “Most Beloved Teacher” by her students.
During the pandemic, her extraordinary dedication to teaching earned her a Special Recognition Award from the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois. Beyond academia, Professor Wendy is also passionate about community service — she was honored with the Volunteer of the Year Award from an Alzheimer’s support organization for her efforts in promoting dementia-friendly communities.
