The Infinite Possibilities of Vocational Education

In light of ongoing educational developments, the center stands as possibly the first institution in Taiwan dedicated to research in technical and vocational education. It devotes itself to the development of high-quality talent in these fields. It employs digital and contextual learning approaches to enhance students’ self-directed learning, strengthen their key 5C competencies, and foster global awareness. The scope of research includes vocational high schools, technical and vocational colleges, and transitions to the workplace. The center also builds upon existing achievements in digital learning research and is committed to continuous refinement and innovation as it aspires to become a world-class research institution for the benefit of the broader academic community.

Self-directed learning

Subproject 1 focuses on foundational competencies at the vocational high school level, including self-directed learning and the 5C skills, as well as teacher training. It aims to establish a foundation for lifelong learning attitudes and skills. Through continuous engagement in the technical high school sector, it has gained recognition and support from many educators.

Over 70 industry and K-12 empowerment activities, including workshops held at the Yilan Experimental Education Center, collaboration with 6 vocational schools to develop technology-assisted and autonomous learning. Generative AI course design and application workshops were conducted in Miaoli and Shulin, and training was provided for organizations such as the Nursing Association. We collaborate with Asia Eastern Hospital, Hong Kong Nüwa Creation Co., Ltd., and others, focusing on AR/VR and AI technologies to enhance learning experiences and educational innovation.
