International Collaboration Program

Actively promoting collaboration with international institutions and scholars through activities such as inviting international scholars for lectures, residencies, and organizing or participating in international conferences. These efforts continuously expand the global network and enhance the center’s international visibility

Recent Specific Exchange and Collaboration Projects:

  • A team of ten researchers visited Korea University, while inviting BK 21 project leader Sang Min Lee for a five-month residency. During the international conference, three additional professors from Korea University visited, demonstrating the highly intensive interaction between the two institutions.
  • Professor Sufen Chen visited the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and Technische Universität Berlin, as well as the University of Agder in Norway, broadening the center's international research perspectives and paving the way for further collaboration.
  • Professor Ming-Kuo Hong participated in the LibreOffice Annual International Conference, enhancing the promotion of open-source software in Taiwan and facilitating in-depth exchanges with international scholars.
  • Professor Chia-Yu Wang collaborated with the University of Twente in the Netherlands, discussing topics such as AI automation coding, digital learning, and science education, providing international insights for the center’s future digital platform development.
  • Professor Tzu-Chen Tang launched a one-year industry-academia collaboration project with Fairmont School, fostering educational exchange through discussions on digital game courses and enhancing the center's international influence. In addition, he plans to participate in Fulbright Foundation's EMI English-Medium Instruction training at UC San Diego, strengthening the design and teaching capabilities of English-medium courses and increasing the center's global visibility.

Visit to International Research Institution - Korea University

  • The center’s director led a team of 10 members to visit the exemplary institution, Korea University (KU). Through on-site visits and observations at KU, combined with physical or online meetings and forums, we invited relevant KU scholars to share their insights on Taiwan Tech and discuss strategies and experiences that could assist us in reflecting on how Taiwan Tech can effectively utilize its resources. In particular, we focused on how to strengthen areas of weakness, despite being a smaller institution, to enhance our competitive capabilities against other top universities in Taiwan and align ourselves with the standards of world-class institutions. The visit offered an in-depth understanding of the strategies and experiences related to faculty, students, teaching environments, academic research development, and talent cultivation at KU

Vocational Education Empowerment Research Center International Conference - 2023 Digital Transformation of Vocational Education in a Sustainable Society

  • The goal of this conference is to enhance the academic research capabilities of vocational teachers and students while promoting international academic exchange. The four-day conference (11/28-12/1) features presentations by scholars and experts from South Africa, Thailand, Korea, and Taiwan over the first three days, covering topics such as personalized digital learning, educational robotics, STEM and entrepreneurship, sustainable employability, innovative education, and metaverse counseling. On the fourth day (12/1), a student English presentation competition will be held, focusing on the challenges and future developments in vocational education research. The competition encourages students to address the development needs of vocational education and propose innovative solutions. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity, learn from others’ solutions, broaden their perspectives, and cultivate professional skills.

International Scholar Residency - Professor Pey-Yan Liou
